Mead is the oldest known alcoholic beverage. In its simplest form, it’s honey, water, and yeast. But mead can be as diverse as the people that make this traditional fermentation. Making mead is a relatively new extension of my zymurgy hobby and one I’ve grown quite fond of quickly. I make up the latest batch of my best mead in this episode. It’s a spiced mead, or “metheglin.” This recipe is based on the Metheglin series by the YouTube channel City Steading Brews. I’ve made some changes while making this recipe, and I think I have it exactly where I want it. Is this the final form of my metheglin recipe? Listen along, and we’ll find out together!
